Signal Group is seeking an Senior Associate to join our public affairs team to provide advocacy and communications support for our clients in renewable energy, public lands, conservation, climate change, and sustainability. We’re looking for an experienced, energetic self-starter who loves organizing projects, is a stickler for details and deadlines and is looking to grow professionally.

Responsibilities

  • Draft internal and external communications documents including memoranda, correspondence, op-ed pieces, talking points, and position letters
  • Manage large lists of client policy priorities with daily and weekly updates
  • Tracking and strategic prioritization of client team projects and activities
  • Create weekly reports summarizing legislative updates and recent client activity
  • Leverage key relationships on Capitol Hill to advance client policy agendas
  • Secure and participate in meetings with clients and other key stakeholders
  • Track, report, and research legislative activity including providing key federal updates
  • Attend meetings and events on and off Capitol Hill
  • Understand and effectively communicate the services that we promote through business development opportunities
  • Prepare business development materials and pitch proposals
  • Participate in the selection and management of the spring, summer, and fall interns
  • Interface directly with clients remotely and in-person
  • Perform other responsibilities as necessary

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in an advocacy or communications firm and/or on Capitol Hill
  • Understanding of legislative process

Signal’s office is now open, and employees may work remotely; however, this position is based in the Washington, D.C. area.
